The company was incorporated by a syndicate of investors in 1906 to acquire, irrigate, subdivide, and sell 5,000 acres of orchard lands on the undeveloped east side of the Columbia River near Wenatchee, Washington. GN chairman James J. Hill was one of the investors. The Great Northern inherited Hill's interest and, in 1924, was asked to take over the management of the company. The company was dissolved in 1933. The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam.
